Outreach Manager
Project: Amplifying the Voice - Empowering NSW Independent Live Performance Venues
Contract: 12-month Part-Time contract for an independent contractor with a valid ABN
Location: NSW (Hybrid/Remote options available). Intrastate travel required.
Hours: Part-Time or Full-Time position available. Flexible working arrangements, with some evening/weekend work for industry events and travel.
About Us: The Live Music Venues Alliance (LMVA) the peak body representing independent live music venues across New South Wales. We unite venues across the state to support a thriving live music ecosystem, ensuring the sustainability of both live music venues and artists.
Role Overview: We are seeking a professionally qualified and experienced individual in membership outreach and consultation, ideally from the live music industry. This role involves direct engagement with venue operators, musicians, booking agents, and industry stakeholders to support the interests of independent live music venues across NSW and strengthen connections between independent venues and the LMVA. This is a contract position.
This is a contractor position. The successful candidate will be engaged as an independent contractor, must hold a valid ABN, and will be responsible for managing their own tax and superannuation obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with independent live music venues across NSW.
Drive membership growth and retention through targeted outreach and engagement strategies.
Support members by providing information, resources, and assistance with industry-related challenges.
Coordinate member communications, including newsletters, events, and updates.
Assist in advocacy campaigns, research, and policy development to represent venue interests.
Plan and facilitate networking opportunities and events for members.
Skills & Experience:
Experience in membership engagement, community management, or stakeholder relations.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of and experience in the live music industry.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Experience in event coordination, marketing, or advocacy is a plus.
Knowledge in the not-for-profit sector and best governance practices
Comfortable using CRM systems, email marketing tools, and basic office software.
Ability to maintain accurate records as well as prepare & present reports to the Board of Directors.
Familiarity with policy issues affecting the live music sector.
Ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Essential Requirements:
Must be registered as an independent contractor with a valid ABN.
Must hold a current and valid full Australian driver’s licence.
Willingness to travel across NSW for venue visits and events.
Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required.
